The Sikh community in Coventry will begin to plant 550 new trees and shrubs in Longford park.
As well as tackling climate change, the new 550 trees with also mark 550 years of the first Sikh Guru, the founder of the faith Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event started at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara on Cross Roads, Foleshill, this charity event has been running for 34th consecutive years.

Palvinder Singh Chana, the chairman of Sikh Union Coventry said “we are immensely proud to be holding the 34th Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji charity walk through the streets of Coventry”
Jay Singh Sohal a West Midlands police and crime candidate was also at the event he tweeted “In Coventry to launch the Sikh Union charity walk in the aid of planting 550 trees to commemorate birth anniv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji ‘we honour life by looking after our environment and we honour our Guru by doing so in his name’
